His Story

For the past two years of his life, art was the rock that kept him going, says the young student. He identifies as an enthusiastic and progressive artist, completely focused to his profession. Kevin share his intimate relationship with his art and how it became his own medicine, his cure and his prime source of communication; an experiential release of the self. After the hurricane, painting was the only remedy to oversee the overwhelming emotions post trauma. Having ongoing weeks without communicating to family, friends, and others was a tormenting psychological challenge for him.

The anxiety and distress caused by the natural disaster, soon to mark its second anniversary, was the trigger to set forward his artworks at another level. Subsequently, his art had numerous evolving states. From one extreme to another, colorful paintings to all-grey palettes was part of this unfolding of new revelations in his work. He follows by acknowledging how his technique improved because of this, but still wants to perfect and advance within his thematics and style.

What He's Done

Having participated in multiple exhibitions during his short career, his annual presence as a student at the University of Puerto at Mayagüez in the (2018, 2019) Mental Health "The Color of Your Mind" was one of great personal importance. Others expositions and contributions include: "One Look at The Town" with a cultural theme of San Sebastián's background; a mural for "Brain Awareness Week" with artist Genesis Rivera; he inaugurated of the "Tablón Efímero de Expresión Artística" (TEEA) at UPRM and many others are some of the most recent works Kevin has introduced to his public audience.

He thanks his admirers and hopes as his main objective; "may they identify and relate to his paintings" as much as he does.
