LGBTQIA+ Funky Digital Artist Comes To Slay Some Serious Art With His Stylish & Empowering Designs

Hope you all had a Happy Pride Everyone! For Pride month, we wanted to feature a Puerto Rican LGBTQIA+ artist, the very own 22 year old, Daniel A. Pesquera Pratt.

About Daniel Pesquera Pratt:
This multifaceted industrial engineer from UPRM (University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez) has been working this year at the MUSA (Museum of Art at RUM) while also focusing on launching a line-art onto different merchandise and accessories of everyday life assortments. Coming from the trendy town of Dorado, although he is still finishing his B.Eng, he has embraced his artistic personality before through theater, commercial acting, and now digital art.
YOUR ART, WHAT ABOUT IT?
As we started to respire his work and the inspiration behind it, one of the first questions we asked Daniel was what style he wanted to grasp through this execution. He states that his style tends to embark simple line art and/or very colorful images; "there is no in-between". With the help of a pencil and laptop, he can create designs which will then be transferred into stickers, tote bags, pencil cases, and t-shirts all the while, says Daniel, expressing meaningful messages on the topics of but not limited to self-care, mental health and other serious stepping-stone life inspired themes. And when we inquired Pesquera what was the main objective with his work today, this was his genuine respondence:
" To spread positive messages onto our everyday lives; little things that remind and encourage us to become the best person we can be. "

Commercially, this hip artist is inspired to capture the Puerto Rican essence of his culture and present it in a fun and relatable way. He binds his art personally and commercially as simplistic yet efficacious. His schematic designs oversee mainstream thoughts of what you would define as trendy and relates to a humbler dynamic of aesthetics and illustration of the self.
As an ongoing curious rookie in the visual arts, he's experimented with different mediums such as stained glass, acrylic painting, and now digital drawings. His internal desire to continue through the passion of creativeness and spurring his imagination is something he describes as feeling as if he can't give up any chance of a challenging by trying something new.
What's Next for YOU & your Art ?
: A platform to place his art and promote healthy messages to inspire and remind others of what is true and important to keep us sane from the real maul's of the world. A pursue in progressing in the learnings of techniques in digital art and exploring new mediums as well. He plans to evolve his artwork from chic-modern designs by transposing deeper meaningful symbolism. Making it more accessible to others is also one of his working priorities for his art.

Daniel was recently contacted by Badder Ink Tattoo Shop in Washington D.C., where they wanted to recreate his designs for their new and upcoming Tattoo Gallery. The artist was honored to be featured in this exposition and was given the copyrights to the inspired design.
His current collaboration with BorikikiStore.com or Borikiki Store on Facebook, broadens his business in selling digital designs, in different forms and contemporary merchandise.
